DAY 1 : Kilimanjaro International Airport - Moshi
You will be picked up at the airport and transported to your hotel in Moshi. You will spend the day meeting your guide and receiving an orientation on your mountain adventure. Your equipment will we assessed and your guide will determine if further equipment or preparations are required on this day
DAY 2 : Moshi - Lemosho Glades - Mti Mkubwa (2650 m)
Hiking time: 3–4 hours Distance covered: 7km
You will begin your 3-hour drive from Moshi to the Londorosi Gate. After completing registration and a meet-and-greet with the rest of your climbing team, you will continue through the forest to the Lemosho Glades until reaching Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp), where you will spend your first night on the mountain. There is a high possibility of seeing small wildlife during this portion of your climb.
DAY 3 : Mti Mkubwa (2650 m) - Shira 1 Camp (3500 m)
Hiking time: 5-6 hours Distance covered: 9 km
Today will offer stunning views as you make your way to Shira 1 Camp. You will get a glimpse of the surrounding mountain peaks as you gain quite a bit of elevation. The landscape begins to change as you pass through the heather filled moorland before trekking towards the beautiful Shira Plateau.
DAY 4 : Shira 1 Camp (3500) - Shira 2 Camp (3845 m)
Hiking time: 3-4 hours Distance covered: 8 km
Today's trek will lead you through the Shira Plateau,, which offers a stunning view, before making your way to Shira 2 Camp. You will also have an opportunity to walk around the area to allow for optimal acclimatization.
DAY 5 : Shira 2 Camp (3845 m) - Barranco Camp (3960 m)
Hiking time: 6-8 hours Distance covered: 11 km
Begin your morning trek eastward toward Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp, where you will rest, eat, and overnight. This route follows the "climb high, sleep low" recommendation that allows for better acclimatization. The landscape continues to change, offering beautiful views and a perfect opportunity to capture some great photos.
DAY 6 : Barranco Camp (3960 m) - Karanga Valley Camp (4040 m)
Hiking time: 3-5 hours Distance covered: 5 km
As you make your way to the Karanga Valley, you will climb the rocky Barranco Wall. You will spend the remainder of your day resting and preparing for the final days of your journey.
DAY 7 : Karanga Valley Camp (4040 m) - Barafu Camp (4600 m)
Hiking time: 3–4 hours Distance covered: 4 km
Today you will trek from the Karanga Valley to Barafu Camp. The landscape has less vegetation as you near the top of the mountain, and temperatures continue to decrease. After arriving at Barafu Camp, you will rest and fuel up for the last leg of the climb. You will not overnight at Barafu Camp. Instead, you will receive an early dinner and catch a few hours of sleep before continuing your hike at midnight.
Day 8: Barafu Camp (4600 m) - Uhuru Peak (5895 m) - Mweka Camp (3100 m)
Hiking time: 14–16 hours Distance covered: 18 km
The day is here! All of your hard work is about to pay off as you begin your last day ascending to the peak. Beginning a little after midnight will allow you to catch the peaceful sunrise as you make your way to Stella Point. Snow-capped glaciers and sparkling rays from the sun will take your breath away. The climb to the top will be steep and challenging, but the beauty that surrounds you will make every step worth it. After reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in the continent of Africa, you will have an opportunity to take photos and celebrate your amazing accomplishment of successfully climbing the highest free-standing mountain in the world! Shortly afterwards, you will begin your descent. Stopping at Barafu Camp for a brief break before making your way to Mweka Camp, where you will overnight and rest,
DAY 9 : Mweka Camp (3100 m) - Mweka Gate (1800 m) - Moshi
Hiking time: 3–4 hours Distance covered: 10 km
Continue your descent to Mweka Gate, passing through beautiful, dense rain forests. Here you will receive your completion certificates and say your farewells to your support team. You will then be transported back to your hotel in Moshi.
