Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and begin the drive toward Serval Wildlife Sanctuary. The journey takes approximately 1–2 hours depending on your departure location, passing through rural landscapes and open plains with views of Mount Meru and, on clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will receive a short orientation and safety briefing before beginning your guided walk through the property. The experience is designed to allow controlled, respectful interaction and close viewing of selected wildlife species under supervision.
As you explore the sanctuary grounds, you may encounter animals such as:
Serval cats
Lions
Giraffes
Zebras
Elands
Wildbeests
The setting is landscaped with acacia trees, open lawns, and scenic viewpoints, providing excellent photographic opportunities. The guides will explain the background of each animal, conservation efforts, and the role of wildlife management within the sanctuary.
Guests often have opportunities for close-up photography with giraffes and other animals under guided supervision, making it a popular destination for memorable wildlife portraits.
Around midday, you will enjoy lunch at the sanctuary restaurant, which offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape. After lunch, there is time to relax, take additional photos, or enjoy the peaceful setting before beginning the return journey.
In the afternoon, you will depart the sanctuary and drive back to Arusha or Moshi, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
