Gombe Stream National Park

Gombe National Park is one of Tanzania’s most unique and intimate wildlife destinations, famous worldwide for its remarkable chimpanzee population and groundbreaking primate research. Nestled along the eastern shores of Lake Tanganyika, the park offers visitors a rare opportunity to trek through lush forests and observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

Despite being one of Tanzania’s smallest national parks, Gombe is globally renowned due to the pioneering research conducted by Jane Goodall, whose long-term studies revolutionized our understanding of chimpanzee behavior and primate intelligence.

Accessible primarily by boat from the nearby town of Kigoma, Gombe offers a truly remote and immersive wilderness experience far from traditional safari routes.
